Publicis Group UK
Publicis Group UK changed its absence management system to TeamSeer in April 2009. The organisation, which has some 450 employees and is part of the Publicis Groupe, previously used a paper-based holiday and sickness management system. The Publicis UK staff are all office-based, with some employees working from client’s offices. Because the TeamSeer application is web-based, all have equal access to the system. Previously staff working off-site couldn’t access the company’s Intranet, and were unable to download the paper holiday forms. Now the off-site staff feel more part of Publicis, as well as being able to manage their leave effectively. Staff on maternity leave can access the system and can manage their time off, in the same way as everyone else.
Douglas BC, IoM
Douglas Borough Council on the Isle of Man, implemented TeamSeer’s absence management system in April 2010. The council employs around 350 staff. Of these, 50% are desk-based and the other 50% are manual workers. The first wave of implementation was for the desk-based staff. Once that was achieved, TeamSeer was made available to the manual workers. TeamSeer is integrated into Microsoft Outlook. When leave is requested and authorised, it appears automatically in the Outlook calendars. Holidays can be seen at a glance by the individuals and their managers, giving total visibility across the organisation.
Just Digital
In January 2010, Just Digital commissioned TeamSeer’s absence management software system. Managing director Adam Hill explained, “Running a small business means there isn’t a lot of time to sort out things like holidays. We had a holiday book and a wall chart, but nobody could see the information they wanted properly. We couldn’t see if there were any clashes of leave in a department or if the staff count was as it should be. We didn’t feel we were running this efficiently and, as other areas of the business are managed electronically, we felt there was a better way of doing it.”
Central Trust
Sickness and absence levels at financial services business Central Trust were running at above 5% of working time, an all time high for the 700 employee company. Charles Rowett was employed in 2006 as the company’s first Group HR Director and chose to replace the company’s inefficient and convoluted paper-based procedures with software from TeamSeer. In doing so, not only was he able to strip out redundant administration procedures, he was also able to introduce a much more effective policy on absence resulting in a saving of over £50,000 in the first six months of using TeamSeer.

UK retailer John Lewis Direct has chosen TeamSeer software to simplify and automate holiday approvals and absence management. Working alongside its in-house HR system, TeamSeer gives teams and managers the information they need to maximise productivity and results.
